I hope I get everyone - if not, please forward the message to others. This month is Sword and Sandals Month.
15th: Kingdom of Heaven. Is Legolas convincing as a crusader? Hmm....at least we get to see Liam Neeson swing a sword....again (it's in his contract).
22nd: 300. To say this movie lionizes and anachronizes the Spartans is kind, but at least the depth and style of Frank Miller's graphic novel are brought to life in this comic-book movie (directed by the guy who is also directing Watchmen).
29th: Troy. The Iliad it ain't, but we haven't seen more thinly veiled homo-eroticism since Top Gun.
Challenge: See how many times "Freedom" is held up as a virtue worth fighting for.
As always movies are on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Bring food or raid our pantry, it's up to you. If kids want to come we'll set up a TV/DVD upstairs for more kid appropriate fair when needed.
